Meet Tido, a Bagamoyo art center entrepreneur who runs a small business. He is a painter that specializes in African art and other wonderful paintings.

I had a brief conversation with him regarding the impact of COVID-19 on his company.

Yes, COVID-19 had a significant impact on works of art, as it did on other enterprises because the majority of their customers are foreign tourists.

Due to the diminishing number of tourists entering Bagamoyo, who are their main clientele, only nine stalls remained operational in the Bagamoyo art market, 39 of which were shuttered, and more than 100 young people quit the painting business and turned to other work.

This was owing to numerous travel restrictions put on several nations, as well as Tanzania's inclusion on a list of high-risk countries, which prevented many tourists and travelers from visiting.

President Mama Samia's new COVID-19 policies, as well as vaccination aid from developed countries, have considerably helped our country in combating COVID-19.

Right now everything is back in line and everything is going on as usual, and business as normal is resumed. Everyone, including tourists, is welcome. Tanzania is one of the safest countries to visit in 2022, and I am confident you will have a wonderful time here.
